Post IVF Treatment – Embryo Transfer and Pregnancy Test

Our team of embryologists, through careful monitoring fertilize the embryo in the laboratory environment, and it is formed within 2 to 6 days. We use a special catheter that is painless to transfer the embryo the mother’s womb. It is a simple process that takes 5-10 minutes. After the IVF treatment stages, we use a pregnancy test to check if it was successful or not.

Embryo Transfer: A Simple and Painless Procedure

The embryo transfer is a straightforward, non-surgical procedure that takes about 5 to 10 minutes and does not require anesthesia. Using a thin, soft catheter, the embryo is gently placed into the uterus under ultrasound guidance. Most patients describe the process as painless or mildly uncomfortable, similar to a Pap smear.

You will be asked to rest briefly after the transfer before going home. While bed rest is not usually required, we advise patients to avoid strenuous activity and follow our team’s post-transfer care instructions closely.

Success Factors for Embryo Transfer:

  • Age: The age of the woman and the quality of the embryos are significant factors in the success of embryo transfer.
  • Embryo Quality: High-quality embryos have better implantation potential.
  • Uterine Health: A healthy, receptive uterus is essential for successful embryo implantation.
  • Embryo Transfer Technique: A skilled embryologist and doctor can increase the chances of successful implantation.

After Embryo Transfer

After the embryo transfer is completed, the expecting mother can take a shower after 1 day. They are recommended to take another pregnancy test 12 days after the embryo transfer. We do not recommend sexual intercourse during this waiting period. Even in cases where pregnancy results are positive, the mother does not stop taking the prescribed medicine for the next 3 months. The IVF treatment process is now completed.
